In the competition, the emphasis is on the communication value of photos and the photographic skill of the photographer. There are two main awards: the Agricultural Photographer of the Year and the Agricultural Photo of the Year.
The competition also offers our members to show their excellence as photographers in 8 different classes:
- Class 1: People in farming
- Class 2: Vegetation
- Class 3: Animals
- Class 4: Wool and Mohair industries
- Class 5: Agricultural implements
- Class 6: Photos of show animals
- Class 7: News
- Class 8: Portfolio
- Class 9: Unpublished photographs
- Class 10: Best photo
The total prize money of the competition amounts to R15 000. The winners of the BKB Agricultural Photographer of the Year and the BKB Agricultural Photo of the Year awards each receive R2000.
